Everest Gokyo trekking begins with a short scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After landing at Lukla, you will begin your trekking and head up to Namche via Phakding and alongside the Sunkoshi river. You will have a rest in Namche Bazaar, explore around the Sherpa village from where you will have awesome views of a number of mountains at least from distinct, such as Kusum Kanguru (6369 m), Thamserku (6,608 m) including Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8,511m), Nuptse (7,879m), Amadablam(6,856m) and Tawache (6542m) to name a few. Next day, you will continue trekking to Dole via Khumjung village, similarly, reach Marchermo, and then you will enter into Gokyo valley, a mountainous valley located in between the Himalayas and then have excursion all around, next day you will have a short hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m) and sneak awesome mountain vista. Afterward, you will continue trekking down to Phortse, Pangboche, and then get down to Namche and finally via Phakding, get down to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.

You will be met by Footprint Adventure Treks and Expedition’s representative at Airport and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the afternoon at leisure for you to explore, and shopping for trekking. A pre-trek briefing will be given this evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, you will be taken to visit some of the famous landmarks of Kathmandu such as  Boudhanath Stupa, Swyambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Patan Durbar Square. They all are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and protected areas as all of them are historically, culturally rich, and ancient. You will get to explore these heritage sites with our experienced city tour guide. You will get a chance to know about the historical facts, stories and all the information related to these sites. 

Swyambhunath Stupa is one of the self-sprung Buddhist and Hindu temples, also called the monkey temple. You will enjoy the stupas, temples, shrines, monasteries, and many more things to explore. Similarly, Boudhanath Stupa is one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in Asia and it's an important pilgrimage center for Tibetian Buddhism. Likewise, Pashupatinath Temple is Nepal's biggest Hindu temple that lies on the bank of the Bagmati River, where people worship Lord Shiva shine. Watching the Hindu cremation rites at the bank of the Bagmati river might be a very new experience for you. Patan Durbar Square is one of the three royal squares in the valley. Built in the medieval era, the Durbar Square used to be the Malla ruler's royal palace and was later used by Shah Kings. 

After your amazing whole day city excursion, you will get back to your hotel. After that, we will go to one Nepali Cultural Restaurant where you will get both delicious Nepali food along with an amazing cultural performance. An early morning start takes us to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla (2,804 m). On arrival at the airport, the guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding (2,610 m). After landing we have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sort and load our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Kosi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2,713 m). The walking is easy. After passing through the small village of Ghat (2,550 m), it is a short walk to Phakding.

We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi, crossing the majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering the Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar (considered the Gateway to Everest) is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchange services, internet cafes and bakeries. Namche is the biggest town along the Everest trail.

We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning air. We will trek a short distance to a museum that is celebrated for its exhibits of the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. We will also hike up to the Syangboche Airport and the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-placed hotels in the world. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas including Mt Everest.

After breakfast, we start our trek with pleasant walk trail through the forest with a magnificent view of mountains until Kenjoma and the trail goes uphill towards Mung Danda for lunch overlooking the views of Amadablam, Khangteka, Thamserku, Kurum Khangru and also Kongde and Kongde-Ri. Then, following the trail will take us to Dole. Overnight Dhole ( 4150 m)

We make an early start from Dole today. Our trek today is not going to be that strenuous but it the beauty of nature is amazingly spectacular. After five hours of walk, we will reach Machhermo. We will stay at Machhermo tonight. overnight Machhermo (4400 meters)

Today, we head for the lakes at Gokyo. We follow a very scenic path to Pangka and then descend slightly, following one of the melt-water rivers which flow down the west side of the Ngozumpa Glacier.we climb a steep rocky inclined into the valley by the side of the glacier, passing the first of the holy lakes. We will soon arrive at the second lake, crossing the path which heads across the glacier to Cho La (5420m.). We’ll see the third lake is known as Dudh Pokhari. Walking by the side of the lake, we will arrive at Gokyo. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Gokyo Ri looms above the village on the northern edge of the lake. After having breakfast we will leave camp, following a steep path up the hillside. As we ascend, the summits of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu slowly come into sight and the view from the summit of Gokyo Ri itself, is one of the finest to be had in the Everest region. After lunch we will trek back to Gokyo. Overnight at guest house.

The trail follows a sharp uphill passing through a large sandy kharka. The trail continues to ascend towards the edge of the glacial lake, from where we start to climb the stone steps. Walking along the stone staircase we approach the adventurous and challenging Renjo La Pass  5435m. The view from the pass is one of the best in the entire Solu-Khumbu. The trail now descends around a rocky spur which can be icy. We follow the trail downhill entering a broad valley and towards Gokyo.

Today we will hike to Thame, situated at 3,800m, and visit the historic Thame monastery and experience spiritual Buddhist practices. We can also witness the lovely culture of the Sherpa people. Spend the night here and enjoy the much-needed rest for our downhill trek to Namche.

Enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains we have recently visited, the 35 minutes scenic flight takes us back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we are met and transferred back to our hotel. Flight is a very important thing for  Everest  Gokyo  Trek. While you are going to Lukla or flight to Kathmandu from Lukla, sometimes will not fly on time because of the weather. after finish the trekking you need to take a private helicopter to come to kathmandu or Lukla. If you have extra 02 days you can catch a flight on time.

High Altitude Sickness
Everest Gokyo Trek would be a lifetime memory in your life. If you are not fit we will not recommend going this trekking. While you are going toward the Gokyo Lake ( 4,790m ) or Gokyo Ri ( 5483m ) you have to eat food and drink sufficient. If you have other serious problems you have to admit the hospital soon in this case you call the helicopter for rescue and our staff will help you with your treatment.

Trekking Grade
Everest Gokyo trek is a pretty long trek that goes right into high mountain country so; it is physically quite strenuous which involves approx 5-8 hours trekking along the way. There is no previous experience is required, used to some regular exercise and enjoy walking in the high altitude conditions.

The best seasons for Best Everest Gokyo Trek start from mid-September till November end and from the beginning of March until the end of May. The morning time usually clear, with clouds building up during the afternoon, & disappearing at night. Trekking during the monsoon and winter is also possible.

We will provide freshly cooked food from the local guest house or restaurant. You will have breakfast and dinner at the lodge and lunch available along the trail. You can find a wide variety of Nepali and Western food as well as drinks.

Everest Gokyo Trek starts your trip from your Kathmandu Hotel so a car or  Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla to Kathmandu by amazing flight and the necessary vehicle will come to your place and drop you to your destination.

Telephone and Internet
There are few places available for Telephone and Internet. You can get an internet password from the hotel counter for telephone and the internet cost would be extra.

Most of the lodges/ guest houses take an additional charge for battery charging. There is no electricity in the Gokyo lake. There is electricity or solar power where you can recharge your camera batteries, laptop, mobile, etc. that costs you need to pay extra.

The bottled water is available along the trail until the last village. You can take buy boil water from the lodge or restaurant or you can use Iodine or water purifying medicines.

In Kathmandu, you will get 4 to 5-star standard hotel or resort accommodation. During the trekking part,  rooms will be basic, normally just a bed with a pillow and blankets. You will have a private room but the bathroom will be outside. There are some guest houses with attached bathrooms as well as but they will cost extra.

Trekking Equipment

Trekking Days
The time schedule is very important for enjoying the trip among the Guide porters and trekkers Each morning after packing our bags and hot breakfast, we set off on the day’s walk. After walking for 3-4 hours we stop for lunch at around midday. The afternoon’s walk.  The remainder of the afternoon can be spent exploring the village, doing a bit of washing, or simply relaxing with a good book. On some days we will arrive at our destination by lunchtime and the entire afternoon will be free.
