Nepal has diverse climatic situations which vary according to its season. Nepal is geographically diverse, so you can experience the same season but different weather across the country. The autumn starts from mid of September and ends in November. This season is also the best season for trekking in Nepal. Similarly, winter falls from the end of November to March, which is the coldest season of the year. Likewise, Spring falls from March to May. Spring season is also the popular season for trekking and especially expedition of high mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and other eight-thousanders. The Summer Season ( Monsoon Season) falls from June to September. This is the rainy season in Nepal and quite difficult for traveling across the country. However, Summer in Nepal is really amazing as you can see the greenery everywhere, the foggy valleys, flowers and you can see the most active nature during the monsoon in Nepal. 

The four-season you can normally experience in Nepal. The different seasons have different climatic conditions. A small description of all the seasons in Nepal is described below. 

Autumn Season 

The Autumn season in Nepal falls from the mid of September to the end of November. The weather in the autumn season normally remains a little humid with warm and sunny days mostly. The Autumn season is the best season for trekking in Nepal around the year. The weather normally remains stable, you can see the beautiful landscapes, nature, mountain views, and climate remain chilled and vibrant. The surroundings views are astonishing, the trails are filled with colorful flowers and nature is in the active mode. The temperature in mountains goes up to freezing point during the morning and night. The Hilly and Terai region remains warm.  

Winter Season 

The Winter season in Nepal falls from the end of November to March. During the winter season in Nepal, the weather is stable, you can experience the clear skies, mountains are filled with white snow. This season brings the coldest weather across the country and normally snowfalls happen in high mountains and the Himalayan region during the winter season in Nepal. The Hilly region and Terai region are more comfortable for short trekking and tours during the winter season as these reasons do not receive snowfall and snowstorms. However, in the morning and evening, it’s quite cold and the temperature sometimes falls up to zero degrees in low lands as well.

Spring Season 

The Spring season in Nepal falls from March to May. The weather is normally clear in the morning and clouds cover mountains and hills in the afternoon. Sometimes, it gets light rainfall in some parts of the country as well. This season is the second-best trekking season and best for the expeditions of high mountains. During the spring season in Nepal, you can experience the colorful rhododendron flowers, Jasmine, and some other wildflowers blossom. The temperature becomes warmer as spring brings the summer to Nepal. 

Summer Season 

The Summer season in Nepal falls from June to mid-September. From the travel point of view, this season is not convenient for traveling in high mountains and high hills regions. The weather normally gets cloudy and difficult to see the views, mountains, and landscapes. The day remains hot with rainfall occurring almost the entire season. So, the trekking and hiking trails normally get wet, muddy, and slippery along with leeches often being active in this season. But, with the proper safety, updates from the weather forecasts, you still can explore the trans-Himalayan regions of Nepal. Normally, this region gets less precipitation as compared to other regions of Nepal.
