Dil Kumar Basnet is a very seasoned and committed trekking guide who was born and raised in Thulung Dudhkoshi, Solukhumbu District of Nepal. He has over 20 years of experience in Nepal's adventure tourism sector. Since he started his guiding career in 2000 A.D., he has built a reputation for professionalism, reliability, and a thorough understanding of the Himalayan trails.
Over the course of his professional career Mr. Basnet has been a professional trekking guide of numerous guiding trekking groups in Nepal. Most of the trails he has led trekkers along include Everest Base Camp, Everest Three Passes, and most certainly his favorite, Annapurna Circuit Trek. He has also led several trips in the Annapurna region and on various off-the-beaten path treks such as the Dhaulagiri Circuit to give trekkers an authentic and memorable experience of Nepal's geographical and cultural diversity. He is very enthusiastic about mountaineering and hopes to pursue climbing in the near future. He views it as an integral part of his relationship with the mountains and is eager to gain further experience in the field.
Beyond guiding, Mr. Basnet enjoys singing, writing poetry, and sharing his love for the mountains. He is well educated and speaks English fluently, which really helps with communicating with travelers around the world. Mr. Basnet values hard work, dedication, and respect for every profession.
