The beautiful Gokyo Ri lies at an elevation of 5,357m in the middle of the Gokyo valley surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains, and tranquil Gokyo lakes, which is also known as the highest freshwater lake system in the world. The main lake of Gokyo offers a pleasing reflection of snowy peaks on its surface.

Gokyo Ri is one of the most popular and must-go places during your Gokyo lakes trek. The top of the Ri offers a 360-degree view of the world’s highest mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu along with hundreds of other snowy peaks. Gokyo Ri is also popular for the sunset and sunrise over those giant peaks which are marvelous and magical. 

Kala Patthar Viewpoint 

Kalapatthar is one of the most popular and most visited viewpoints in Nepal as this place is the trademark of the renowned Everest Base Camp Trek. A hilltop covered with black stone “ Kalapatthar” is located above the Gorakshep village on the southern ridge of the diamond-shaped mountain “ Pumori”. The Kalapatthar viewpoint offers a close-up view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, and many other snowy peaks. This unique vantage point lies at an elevation of 5,545 m, where it takes a 2-3 hr uphill walk from Gorakshep village.

To summit the Kalapatthar, it’s not an easy task but once you reach there it will be worth climbing where you get a chance to witness the magical sunrise and sunset on the top of Everest. The top of the Kalapatthar is very unique compared to other viewpoints. Many trekkers love to hike in the early morning to experience the stunning view of the gradually rising sun amidst the highest mountain on the planet. Kyanjin Ri 

Another most classical and fascinating viewpoint is in the valley of Langtang. While you are trekking in the off-the-beaten Langtang Valley trek, Kyanjin Ri is one of the best places to enjoy the valley to the fullest. Kyanjin Ri lies above the beautiful Kyanjin Gompa village located at an elevation of 4,800. During this beautiful trek, you’ll be in Kyanjin Gompa for at least two days and where you can witness the scenic views of the valley, sunrise/sunset, and stunning mountain views.

Mardi Viewpoint lies at an elevation of 4,200 m on the ridge between Modi Khola on the left and Pokhara valley on the right side. Mardi Himal trek is popular for its amazing mountain view, rich biodiversity, and cultural depiction.

Mardi Upper  Viewpoint is the best part of this short and classical Mardi Himal trek as you can see the panoramic views of true natural combinations in your surroundings. Chandragiri Hills

The shortest one from Kathmandu is also worth exploring once you are in Kathmandu, yes Chandragiri Hills is another popular viewpoint that offers diverse attractions in a short period of time. Gorgeous views of the Himalayan range, beautiful views of Kathmandu city, and the landscape would be breathtaking. 15 min cable car ride from the base of the Chandragiri hills takes you to the top where you can see the Hindu temple, restaurants, a small zip line, and a playground. 10 min down to the hilltop, you can find the luxury Chandragiri Hills Resort for fancy accommodation. Murma Viewpoint 

Murma viewpoint is the gem of west Nepal located in Mugu district which offers an iconic view of the biggest lake of Nepal, Rara Lake. Murma is a small village rich in culture, traditional practices, natural beauty, and great hospitality. The viewpoint lies at an elevation of 3,300 m that offers mind-blowing views of pristine Rara lake, Himalayan range, and alpine forest.

When you are visiting Rara lake, Murma is the must-go place to fulfill the essence of your trip to Rara lake. It takes 3-4 hours to reach the top of the Murma from the Rara lake area. You can see the beautiful village, mountain range, Api Himal, and nature in one sight. The Murma is least explored but worth visiting once in your lifetime.

Kanyam Viewpoint 

Kanyam is another popular and most visited viewpoint in eastern Nepal, which lies around 43km far from the Ilam district. The palace is covered in an external shroud of cold breeze and the hills of this place are covered with beautiful tea gardens and an amazing atmosphere. Kanyam is also popular for the magnificent views of sunrise and sunset. Besides this, the stunning views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, places of Terai, Darjeeling, Siliguri, and the Bay of Bengal can be explored from this viewpoint.

Phoksundo Lake Viewpoint 

Truly heaven, a gem of the west and deepest lake in Nepal, Phoksundo Lake trek is one of the most popular off-the-beaten trekking in Nepal that offers the mouth-watering view of Phoksundo lake, Rigmo village, rich alpine biodiversity, and stunning mountain ranges. The lake is located at an elevation of 3,660 m and is touching the traditional Rigmi village.

Once you reach Phoksundo lake, you’ll hike uphill towards the beginning of the lake and after 3-4 hours you’ll reach the Phoksundo Lake Viewpoint. The pristine view of blue-colored lakes, smiling Kanjirowa Himal, rugged terrain, and alpine ecosystem can amaze you.
